Scoring and Judging Criteria for Painting: 40K "Grinder 12" ITC Rogue Trader

An army's painting score will be on a 0-7 point basis.  These points will be added to your overall score just like an additional round of play. Armies will not be judged against each other.  Each army's painting level will be scored on it's own merit and given a number between 0-7.

Judges will be looking at a number of different aspects of each army to determine the score including the following:

  • 1- Overall look and cohesion of the army
  • 2- Painting technique and skill level
  • 3- Bases will be considered part of your miniatures and should be painted and based appropriately
  • 4-  Extra Effort- Are there conversions, are there banners, do HQ's have a little something special added to them , do bases have extra terrain on them etc...
  • 5- Is the entire army painted?

An unpainted army will receive a score of 0, while a competition (think Golden Demon level) painted and converted army will receive a 7.  Most armies will fall somewhere between these two levels.

Check in/Registration starts at 9:30am and the first game starts at 10:00am.

Players should bring (recap):

  • 7th Ed rulebook
  • Codex for their army
  • Any FAQ for their army
  • Dice
  • Templates
  • Models for their army WYSIWYG (what you see, is what you get)
  • Ruler/measuring tape
  • 3 copies of army list
  • Pen/pencil
  • Objective markers
